Material Memory
2025
Variable Dimensions
"Every material remembers the force that shaped it."
Material Memory investigates the emotional weight carried by industrial materials through time. Combining cast concrete, bronze, oxidized steel, and reclaimed stone, Elena Vasari constructs sculptural compositions that appear excavated rather than manufactured. Each work balances permanence and erosion, revealing how architecture quietly records memory through weathering, pressure, and transformation.
Installation Views

Installed at Fondazione Forma, Milan, the exhibition presented sculptural works across open architectural spaces, encouraging viewers to move around each object and experience changing relationships between mass, light, and shadow.
Collection Notes
Material Memory examines the dialogue between industry and nature. Concrete becomes geological, steel becomes organic, and every fractured edge records a history of physical change rather than destruction.
